Well, following on my post earlier this week I pulled the trigger on the red 2015 Suburban 4WD. I’m happy to have it, but my enthusiasm was tempered somewhat when I got home and noticed some serious scratches on the hood. I have no idea how both my dad and I missed them completely. No pictures of those yet because I’m too annoyed with myself.
On the bright side, I got what I was looking for - a 4WD Suburban in what I think is the best color combo - red with cocoa over dune (tan) interior.
Other than the scratches on the hood (argh! how did I miss those! ) there are some minor exterior signs of age, basically the same ones my white one had - B and C pillar trim that is faded and coming off. I put some 3M double sided trim tape on them for now, and I’ll look for some inexpensive replacements. Also need to install the same leveling kit for the front end. I'll get more pictures after the leveling kit and some elbow grease on the hood.

Which motor? 5.3?

Yes, that was the only option for 2015-2018.

That is a good looking color - nice truck!

We run that platform 300,000 miles here. They look like Swiss cheese but survive. Nice purchase.

Don’t beat yourself up about the scratches unless you wouldn’t have bought the truck. It’s still a good buy. Congrats.

Glad you got that fantastic color combo. It'll make you so much more justified in staring out the window at it during work hours during the course of the next week.

Not strictly speaking... Fleets could order an HD with a 6.0.

I’m going to check out a ‘16 Yukon XL Denali on Monday, hopefully. Same color! I drove an SLT with the 5.3 today and it was fine, but in rough/neglected condition. Probably some kind of fleet vehicle considering the dings, dents, and scratches on a 1 year old vehicle. The brakes felt almost woefully inadequate.
Congrats on your new ride!

Did not know that.

This ones was actually a rental first, but surprisingly good shape despite it. Good luck with the Denali. I looked at a black on black 15 Denali last weekend, it was a private car but beat up like a rental.
I’m planning on putting new brakes on this regardless, though they do feel a bit less firm than mine.

Thanks. My awesome brother in law went at it with the orbital and polishing compound this evening and it looks WAY better.

Always had a soft spot for Suburbans & Tahoes. Nice addition!
